How to Search Pasco County Criminal Records by Name

Pasco County’s official court-record search is the most useful starting point if you want to check whether a person has a publicly available criminal court case in the county.

The Clerk allows the general public to search available electronic court records, subject to Florida Supreme Court access rules and the site’s disclaimers.

  1. Open the official court-records page. Visit pascoclerk.com/172/Search-Court-Records.
  2. Select Online Court Records Search. The Clerk’s page provides a button that launches its public court-record search.
  3. Read and accept the public-access disclaimer. Court records can contain protected information. Public access is limited to information available under applicable court rules.
  4. Choose the available name-search option. Search using the person’s first and last name according to the fields provided by the portal.
  5. Narrow the results when possible. Use the appropriate criminal case type, filing dates or other available search filters to avoid unrelated civil or family cases.
  6. Compare possible matching cases. Check the party name, case number, filing date and court location. A similar name does not prove the record belongs to the person you intended to search.
  7. Open the criminal case. Review the available case history, court events, charges, hearings and disposition information.
  8. Check the final outcome. Look for an adjudication, judgment, dismissal, acquittal or other final court action. Do not rely only on the original charges.
  9. Save the case number. If you need official proof of the result, contact the Clerk for the applicable judgment or certified disposition.
Best practice: If you already have a complete Pasco County criminal case number, use the case-number search instead of a broad name search. It reduces the risk of matching the wrong person.

Is the Pasco County criminal court search free?

Yes. The Clerk publishes a free public online court-record search and also lists free computer record searches and physical inspection of available public court files.

Clerk-assisted records research, document copying and certification are separately chargeable services.

Pasco County Felony, Misdemeanor and Criminal Traffic Records

Pasco County is part of Florida’s Sixth Judicial Circuit, which also includes Pinellas County.

Pasco criminal prosecutions are generally divided between circuit criminal and county criminal jurisdiction, depending on the offense.

Case type What it generally covers Where to search
Felony More serious criminal offenses, including first-, second- and third-degree felony charges. Pasco County Clerk’s Circuit Criminal court records.
Misdemeanor First- and second-degree misdemeanor criminal cases. Pasco County Clerk’s County Criminal case records.
Criminal Traffic Criminal traffic proceedings such as qualifying DUI or other criminal driving offenses. Pasco Clerk’s applicable criminal traffic records.
Civil Traffic Noncriminal traffic infractions. The Clerk’s traffic case services; not necessarily a criminal-history record.
Juvenile Delinquency and other juvenile matters. Separate confidentiality and court-access rules apply.
Federal Criminal Federal prosecutions arising within the relevant federal court jurisdiction. PACER, rather than the Pasco state-court index.

How to understand Pasco criminal case dispositions

Florida criminal docket terminology can be confusing. A case may contain several charges with different outcomes.

Term What it generally means What to verify
Pending The prosecution remains unresolved. Recent docket events and the next hearing.
Information Filed The prosecution formally filed charges. Whether the charge later changed or was dismissed.
Guilty Plea The defendant entered a plea of guilty. The accepted plea, judgment and sentence.
Adjudicated Guilty The court formally adjudicated the defendant guilty. Each applicable count and later orders.
Adjudication Withheld The court withheld formal adjudication under an applicable disposition. Legal consequences depend on the specific purpose and statute.
Nolle Prosequi The prosecution declined to proceed with the specified charge. Whether other charges remained.
Dismissed The court dismissed a charge or case. Whether the dismissal covered every count.
Acquitted The defendant was found not guilty of the specified charge. The final verdict or judgment.
An arrest does not establish guilt. A criminal complaint, charge or jail booking should not be described as a conviction unless the final court records support that conclusion.

Pasco County Criminal Court Locations: Dade City and New Port Richey

Pasco County has court service locations in both East and West Pasco. The correct office depends on where the case is assigned and where the requested document is maintained.

The Clerk’s published general office hours are 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.

Searching by city: Where was the case filed?

Searches involving communities such as New Port Richey, Port Richey, Hudson, Trinity, Wesley Chapel, Land O’ Lakes, Dade City and Zephyrhills should start with Pasco County’s court records when the prosecution was filed in Pasco.

However, the arresting police agency may differ. An arrest by a municipal police department is not necessarily a Pasco Sheriff’s Office arrest record, even when the criminal prosecution proceeds through Pasco County court.

Practical tip: When a person has lived in both Pasco and neighboring Pinellas or Hillsborough counties, remember that those counties maintain separate criminal court records. A Pasco search does not automatically include cases filed elsewhere.

How to Obtain Pasco County Criminal Court Documents and Certified Copies

Sometimes a criminal case summary is not enough. For a licensing issue, legal proceeding, personal record review or other official purpose, you may need the actual judgment, dismissal order, sentencing document or certified disposition.

The Pasco County Clerk provides physical court-file inspection, document copying and electronic certification services for eligible documents.

  1. Find the criminal case number. Search the Clerk’s public court-record portal and record the complete case number.
  2. Identify the document you need. Examples include a final disposition, judgment, sentence, order of dismissal or other specific public criminal filing.
  3. Check whether the document is available online. The court’s public-access rules determine which documents can be viewed remotely.
  4. Use E-Certify if eligible. The Clerk offers electronic certified copies of available court documents, with a digital signature and tamper-resistant certification.
  5. Contact Court Records for unavailable documents. Some older or restricted-access files must be requested at a Clerk office.
  6. Confirm fees and delivery. Plain copies, certified copies and online E-Certify orders have different charges.

Pasco County E-Certify service

Through E-Certify, qualifying records may be purchased online, downloaded immediately and delivered to the email address supplied during the purchase.

The Clerk publishes the following electronic certification fees:

  • $1 per page for statutory copying.
  • $2 per document for certification.
  • $6 additional E-Certify convenience fee per document.
  • Additional 3.5% credit-card processing charge when applicable.

What if the criminal file is old?

The Clerk maintains separate records retention facilities in Dade City and New Port Richey. It recommends contacting the appropriate records office before visiting if you know the case number.

New for October 2026: Florida Statewide CaseAccess

On October 12, 2026, the Pasco County Clerk announced a new statewide court case research service called CaseAccess.

CaseAccess uses the Comprehensive Case Information System (CCIS) to provide a convenient case-information search across all 67 Florida counties.

This is particularly useful for researchers who need to check cases in Pasco, Pinellas, Hillsborough, Hernando or other Florida counties rather than searching each Clerk’s website individually.

How much does CaseAccess cost?

Monthly subscription

$20 per month

Intended for users who regularly search court cases across multiple Florida counties.

Annual subscription

$200 per year

Provides an annual subscription option for frequent statewide court researchers.

How to access the service

  1. Open the official CaseAccess information page. Use the link below.
  2. Visit the Florida Courts E-Filing Portal. Choose Enter the Portal.
  3. Create or sign in to an E-Filing Portal account. Account registration itself is free.
  4. Select CaseAccess Subscription. Choose the monthly or annual subscription.
  5. Use the statewide research tool. Search available case information across Florida counties, subject to the platform’s scope and access rules.
You do not need CaseAccess to search Pasco County alone. The Clerk confirms that public case information remains available for free through individual county Clerks’ existing search systems. CaseAccess is an optional convenience subscription.

The Clerk also emphasizes that CaseAccess is a research tool, not the official court record. Certified records must still come from the Clerk responsible for the original case.

Pasco County Arrest Records and Sheriff’s Public Records Requests

If you need a police arrest report rather than a court docket, contact the law-enforcement agency that created the report.

The Pasco Sheriff’s Office handles records involving its own investigations and arrests. Municipal police departments may maintain separate arrest and incident records.

September 2026 change: Sheriff records now use JustFOIA

Effective September 7, 2026, the Pasco Sheriff’s Office moved new public-record requests to the JustFOIA system.

The Sheriff explains that users can submit requests, communicate with the public records office, track requests and pay applicable charges through the new portal.

Earlier requests submitted through GovQA remain accessible through the former request-tracking system, but all new requests should use JustFOIA.

How to request a Pasco Sheriff’s arrest record

  1. Open the Sheriff’s official Public Records page. Select the link to submit a new JustFOIA request.
  2. Choose the correct record type. Specify an arrest report, incident report, local arrest history or other record.
  3. Provide helpful details. Include the Sheriff’s report number when available, or the incident date, location and other lawful identifying details.
  4. Complete any required agency form. Requests for particular record categories may have additional requirements.
  5. Submit and track the request. The agency can explain availability, redactions, estimated fees and delivery options.
  6. Check the final criminal case separately. Police reports do not establish the outcome of a court prosecution.

Local arrest-history limitation: The Sheriff states that its local arrest-history service covers Pasco Sheriff’s Office arrests only. Arrests by a municipal police department or another law-enforcement agency may require a separate records inquiry.

The Sheriff’s Office also notes that active investigations, juvenile records, victim identities and other sensitive material may be withheld or redacted under applicable Florida laws.

Pasco County Jail Inmate Search and Past Arrests

Pasco County’s current jail inmate information is available through Pasco County Corrections.

The Corrections portal includes separate In Custody and Past Arrests options.

This is different from searching criminal court judgments or obtaining a police incident report.

  1. Open the Pasco Corrections information portal. Visit jailinfo.pascocorrections.net/jmc/.
  2. Select In Custody. Use this option to locate people currently held in the county detention system.
  3. Search by the person’s name. Enter the available name information using the portal’s search fields.
  4. Compare identity details. Check available age, booking information or other identifiers.
  5. Review the custody information. Available information can include booking dates, charges, bond details and other detention-related information.
  6. Choose Past Arrests if relevant. Use the separate portal option to research historical bookings available in that system.
  7. Verify criminal case outcomes with the Clerk. Jail information is not the authoritative record of conviction, dismissal or acquittal.

Pasco County Detention Center

20101 Central Boulevard
Land O’ Lakes, FL 34637

Telephone: (813) 996-6982

For current inmate information, start with the county’s Corrections portal.

A jail booking is not proof of guilt. People may be held while awaiting trial, pending release, or for other lawful reasons. Confirm the actual criminal court disposition through the Pasco County Clerk.

Pasco County Active Warrants Search

A public criminal court docket is not necessarily a reliable way to confirm whether a warrant is currently outstanding.

The Pasco Sheriff’s Office maintains a separate public Active Warrants search.

Its warrant page allows searches using identifying information and explains that the Sheriff’s Fugitive Warrants Unit does not provide warrant-status information over the telephone.

Safety and accuracy: If you believe you have an outstanding warrant, consult the Sheriff’s official instructions or qualified legal counsel. Do not confront another person or attempt to act on a warrant search result yourself.

FDLE Florida Criminal History Search: Statewide Background Checks

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) is the state’s central repository for criminal-history information.

Unlike Pasco County’s free criminal court search, FDLE provides qualifying Florida-wide criminal-history information reported to the state repository.

This is particularly useful if the person may have cases from multiple Florida counties.

How to request an FDLE public criminal-history search

  1. Open FDLE Florida Criminal History Checks. Use the official FDLE website rather than a commercial people-search provider.
  2. Select Instant Search or another permitted service. FDLE offers instant non-certified results and separately processed certified or non-certified requests.
  3. Enter the required identifying information. Follow the name-based search instructions carefully.
  4. Review the search fee. The public search costs $24, with an additional $1 credit-card processing charge for the instant search.
  5. Submit the request. Instant search results are available electronically, subject to the portal’s processing.
  6. Compare possible matches. A name-based report may not positively identify the correct person in the same way as fingerprints.
  7. Verify final dispositions. Obtain original court documents when the outcome is important.
Immediate public results

FDLE Instant Search

Costs $24 per search plus $1 credit-card processing.

Results can be printed or emailed but are not certified.

Official processed request

FDLE Certified / Non-Certified Search

FDLE provides separately processed requests, including notarized results where applicable.

The published processing estimate is five business days for non-certified results and six to seven business days for certified results, excluding postal delivery.

Florida-only coverage: FDLE public criminal-history results are not an unrestricted nationwide FBI search. Federal, out-of-state and some unreported or legally restricted records may not appear in an ordinary Florida name-based response.
Official FDLE Criminal History Search

Can you review your own full Florida criminal history?

Yes. FDLE offers a separate Personal Review procedure for individuals who want to inspect and challenge their own Florida criminal-history information.

The process requires fingerprint identification and is not available for an ordinary private requester to review another person’s complete personal history.

Two additional statewide systems may help with specific public-record questions.

If someone was sentenced to Florida state prison, the Department of Corrections maintains separate correctional and offender-search services.

State prison information should not be confused with Pasco County Jail bookings.

Federal criminal cases involving Pasco County

Some cases involving Pasco County may be prosecuted in federal court rather than the Florida state court system.

The relevant federal judiciary search is PACER. Florida federal prosecutions in the Tampa area are generally associated with the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.

Use the PACER Find a Case service to locate publicly available federal criminal dockets.

Pasco County Criminal Record Sealing and Expungement

A criminal case may be unavailable through the ordinary Pasco County public search if it has been sealed, expunged or made confidential under Florida law.

Florida generally addresses court-ordered criminal history sealing and expungement under Florida Statutes §§ 943.059 and 943.0585.

What is the difference between sealing and expungement?

Sealing

Restricted Public Access

Sealing generally restricts ordinary public access to qualifying criminal records while allowing specified agencies to access them under applicable law.

Expungement

Stronger Record Restrictions

Expungement generally involves additional removal or destruction requirements, subject to statutory exceptions and permitted agency access.

How to start a Pasco County seal or expunge request

  1. Find the original criminal case. Record the Pasco case number, arrest information and final court disposition.
  2. Review FDLE eligibility requirements. Not every charge, disposition or criminal history qualifies.
  3. Apply for an FDLE Certificate of Eligibility. This is the required preliminary step for ordinary court-ordered relief under the applicable statutes.
  4. Obtain a certified disposition. FDLE requires certified case information and other supporting materials.
  5. Complete the fingerprint and application requirements. The process includes a nonrefundable $75 FDLE application fee.
  6. File the petition with the appropriate court. Once the certificate is issued, the applicant must follow the court petition procedure.
  7. Pay the applicable county charge. Pasco County’s published criminal fee schedule lists $42 for sealing a court file or expungement of a record.
  8. Obtain and preserve the final court order. FDLE explains that a Certificate of Eligibility by itself does not seal or expunge the record.
Eligibility is not automatic. Florida’s laws impose conditions and exclusions, including restrictions involving certain convictions and offense categories. A dismissal does not, by itself, guarantee that all arrest and court records will disappear from public systems.

FDLE’s published estimate for reviewing a complete sealing or expungement eligibility application is approximately 12 weeks, although actual processing may vary.

Why Can’t You Find Pasco County Criminal Records Online?

A no-result search can occur for several reasons. The correct next step depends on which database you searched and what kind of record you expected.

Problem Possible explanation Best next step
Name search returns no result Spelling, alias, filing date or search-filter issue. Try the full case number or contact Court Records.
Property-related documents appear instead You may be using Official Records rather than Court Records. Return to the Clerk’s Online Court Records Search.
A recent arrest does not show a court case The prosecution may not yet have been filed or processed. Check Corrections booking information and the court search later.
Sheriff’s records request is not found New requests moved to JustFOIA on September 7, 2026. Use the Sheriff’s current JustFOIA portal.
A municipal police arrest is missing from Sheriff’s history Local Sheriff arrest histories cover Sheriff’s arrests. Contact the municipal police agency or check the court case.
Jail inmate is not listed The individual may have been released, transferred or never booked into that facility. Check Past Arrests or contact Corrections for current custody information.
Older criminal file is unavailable Archival storage, record retention or limited electronic access. Contact East or West Pasco Records Retention.
Case sealed or expunged Legal restrictions prevent ordinary public access. Respect confidentiality and use the authorized court procedure.
FDLE name check differs from court record Different coverage, reporting delays or identity matching. Verify the original disposition and use FDLE’s correction process if applicable.
Federal prosecution is missing Federal cases are maintained separately. Search PACER.
No result is not proof of no criminal history. A Pasco County court search, FDLE criminal-history report, Sheriff’s arrest history and county jail roster are separate systems with different coverage and legal restrictions.
