The Palm Beach County Clerk’s eCaseView system provides public access to criminal, civil and traffic case information. Its free guest-search service is available without registration.

Depending on the record, eCaseView may show charges, sentences, case dispositions, upcoming hearings, court orders and available documents.

  4. Apply useful search filters.

When appropriate, narrow by court type, case type, citation number or offense-date range. Guest users cannot use every advanced identifying field.

View and print publicly available uncertified documents free of charge. If certification is required, order an eligible document through E-Certify.

What search information can you enter?

Search criterion Guest access Best use
Defendant name Yes Finding a person’s court cases.
Court case number Yes Locating a known case precisely.
Citation number Yes Traffic and citation-related searches.
Offense date Yes Narrowing cases by incident period.
Court type / case type Yes Separating criminal, traffic and other proceedings.
Date of birth Registered users Distinguishing people with similar names.
Booking number Registered users Finding cases using a known booking identifier.
Arrest date / incident number Registered users Advanced criminal case searches.

Do you need to register for a free account?

No. Guest access is sufficient for most ordinary public name and case-number searches.

Registered users receive additional search options, including date of birth, booking number, arrest date, incident number and driver’s license number.

Registration is free, but requires submitting the Clerk’s user-registration form.

2026 account change: Since March 19, 2026, registered users must sign in with their registered email addresses and use multifactor authentication through email or Microsoft Authenticator. The Clerk did not make these registration requirements mandatory for ordinary guest access.

How far back do court document images go?

The Clerk states that online document images are generally available from late 2008 onward, with earlier records available on a case-by-case basis.

A case can therefore be searchable even if every associated document image is not available online. Older filings may need to be requested from the Clerk’s Records Service Center.

03 / Felony criminal records

How to Search Palm Beach County Felony Court Records

Florida’s Circuit Courts have original jurisdiction over felony prosecutions. Palm Beach County belongs to Florida’s 15th Judicial Circuit.

The Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller maintains the filed criminal court records, while judicial divisions manage hearings, trials and other court proceedings.

Examples of felony cases

  • Qualifying felony theft and burglary charges
  • Felony drug offenses
  • Robbery and serious assault offenses
  • Felony DUI charges
  • Homicide and other serious criminal prosecutions

A misdemeanor arising from the same circumstances as a felony may also be handled by Circuit Court under Florida law.

How to find a felony docket

  1. Open eCaseView.

Select Guests and proceed to the search screen.

  2. Enter the defendant’s name or case number.

Use the complete case number whenever it is known.

  3. Identify the Circuit Criminal case.

Review the court-type designation and filing details shown in the result.

  4. Open the docket.

Review the available charging document, hearings, motions, orders and case history.

  5. Check the judgment and sentence.

Do not conclude that a filed felony charge resulted in conviction without checking its disposition.

  6. Request certification if necessary.

Use E-Certify or contact the Clerk’s Records Service Center for an official court document.

Useful Florida distinction: The Clerk’s criminal records service covers both Circuit Criminal and County Criminal cases. You do not need to search a completely different Clerk website for a felony versus a misdemeanor, although the case categories and judicial divisions differ.

04 / Misdemeanor and city-related offenses

Palm Beach County Misdemeanor Criminal Records Search

Florida County Courts have jurisdiction over misdemeanors that are not within Circuit Court jurisdiction, along with qualifying municipal and county ordinance violations.

That means many criminal matters originating in West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, Jupiter and other Palm Beach County communities may appear in the county court system.

Unlike some states, Florida generally does not operate separate city Municipal Courts for ordinary criminal misdemeanor prosecutions.

Common misdemeanor-related case types

  • Driving under the influence where charged as a misdemeanor
  • Misdemeanor theft and shoplifting
  • Qualifying simple battery or assault charges
  • Driving while license suspended and other qualifying criminal traffic matters
  • Other Class 1 or Class 2 misdemeanors under Florida law
  • Applicable local ordinance violations

How to search misdemeanor and criminal traffic cases

  1. Open eCaseView and continue as a guest.

Use the free public court search.

  2. Enter the name or citation number.

Search by defendant information when the case number is not known.

  3. Select the appropriate case category.

Check County Criminal or another relevant criminal or traffic category displayed by the search.

  4. Open the matching docket.

Confirm the defendant, charges, filing date and assigned court.

  5. Check each charge’s outcome.

A case may contain more than one count with different dispositions.

Traffic tickets are not all criminal records. Some Florida traffic matters are civil infractions, while DUI and other specified traffic offenses may be criminal. Check the exact charge and case classification before describing a ticket as a criminal conviction.

For traffic tickets and their scheduled hearings, the Clerk offers additional instructions: Look Up a Palm Beach County Traffic Case.

05 / Find upcoming criminal hearings

How to Check a Palm Beach County Criminal Court Date

The Clerk provides a dedicated Find My Court Date service using eCaseView.

This is useful when checking the date of an arraignment, pretrial hearing, trial, sentencing or other scheduled proceeding.

  1. Open the Find My Court Date page.

Use the Clerk’s official link below.

  2. Select the eCaseView search.

Choose Guests or sign in with your registered account.

  3. Search by name or case number.

    Open the correct criminal case.

  4. Select Court Events.

Review available upcoming criminal court dates and scheduled events.

  5. Check the hearing notice.

If the event may be held by Zoom, review the Notice of Hearing or Order Setting Hearing for the applicable appearance instructions.

  6. Confirm urgent or unclear information.

Contact the Clerk or the assigned judicial division rather than relying on outdated screenshots or third-party calendar listings.

Can you receive court-date reminders?

Yes. The Clerk provides an option to sign up for free text reminders for upcoming criminal court dates.

A reminder service does not replace the official court notice, and receiving no reminder does not excuse a missed appearance.

06 / Certified criminal records and court documents

How to Obtain Certified Palm Beach County Criminal Court Records

If you need official proof of a criminal case outcome, an uncertified public docket printout may not be sufficient.

Palm Beach County provides E-Certify for qualifying electronic certified court documents. These are secure PDF files containing an electronic stamp, seal and verification code.

Free

Uncertified court copies

View, save or print publicly accessible document images directly from eCaseView without paying.

$8

Electronically certified document

$8 per document, plus a 3.5% processing fee when paying by the supported electronic payment methods.

How to buy a certified criminal document online

  1. Locate the criminal case.

Search by name or case number in eCaseView.

  2. Open Dockets & Documents.

Find the judgment, sentence, dismissal or other document you need.

  3. Select the shopping-cart icon.

Add an eligible publicly viewable document to the E-Certify shopping cart.

  4. Review the order.

Confirm that you selected the correct case, document and number of certificates.

  5. Pay the certification fee.

Complete checkout using the offered payment method.

  6. Download the certified PDF.

Once payment is complete, the electronic document can be downloaded. You should also receive an email link.

  7. Verify and save the record.

The certificate can be authenticated using the QR code or electronic verification link. Save your copy rather than relying indefinitely on the email download link.

Important 30-day download rule: The Clerk states that an E-Certify purchase link remains available for 30 days. The certified document itself does not ordinarily expire simply because the retrieval link expires. Save the PDF after purchase.

What if you need a paper-certified court record?

Some recipients require a manually stamped paper copy. The Clerk provides certified documents through its Records Service Center and branch offices.

The Clerk advises checking whether the recipient accepts electronic certification before ordering online.

If a purchased electronic certified document is rejected solely because the receiving institution will not accept that format, the Clerk states that it can provide a manually stamped certified document without an additional charge.

  4. Enter available details.

Search by first name, last name, city, statute or arresting agency when known.

  5. Review the possible matches.

This is a rolling limit, not a permanent archive of all Palm Beach County arrests.

09 / Florida statewide criminal history

FDLE Criminal Background Check vs. Palm Beach County Court Search

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) maintains Florida’s statewide criminal-history repository.

A Palm Beach County eCaseView search only covers cases filed in the county’s courts. FDLE’s public criminal-history service searches qualifying information reported to the statewide system.

FDLE Instant Criminal History Search

$24

FDLE public name search

FDLE’s published state criminal-history fee for an ordinary public request.

The Instant Search has an additional $1 credit-card processing fee.

Immediate online result

Instant Search results are typically available immediately and can be printed or emailed.

These instant results are not certified.

How to request a Florida background check

  1. Open the FDLE Florida Checks page.

Choose the statewide criminal-history service rather than the county court portal.

  2. Select Instant Search or another appropriate option.

FDLE also provides certified/non-certified staff-processed searches and ORI-based searches for authorized purposes.

  3. Enter accurate identifying information.

Provide the name and other available details requested by the system.

  4. Pay the published fee.

The standard search charge is $24, with the applicable online processing fee.

  5. Review the result carefully.

Use official court records to confirm unclear charges, dispositions or identifying details.

Certified FDLE criminal-history requests

FDLE’s staff-processed Certified/Non-Certified Search also carries a published $24 search charge.

FDLE states that non-certified requests have an approximate five-business-day processing period, while certified requests generally require six to seven business days, excluding postal delivery.

For employer or licensing checks requiring a specific ORI number, obtain that number from the organization requesting the background check. FDLE does not assign an ORI simply because an individual asks for one.

Can you review your own Florida criminal history for free?

Yes. FDLE has a separate Personal Review service that allows individuals to inspect and challenge their own Florida criminal-history information.

FDLE does not charge for Personal Review. However, the requester must provide a fingerprint card, and the agency taking the fingerprints may charge its own service fee.

This service is available to the record subject or an authorized attorney. It cannot be used to obtain another person’s complete private criminal-history information.

The Personal Review response is not intended as a certified background report for immigration, employment, licensing or similar official purposes.

Which FDLE service should you choose? Use the $24 public search for a name-based Florida criminal-history inquiry. Use FDLE Personal Review to examine and challenge your own fingerprint-associated record, subject to its documentation requirements.

11 / Missing records and search troubleshooting

Why Can’t You Find a Palm Beach County Criminal Record?

An empty online search does not prove that a person has no criminal history. There are several Palm Beach County-specific reasons why a record may not appear.

Problem Possible explanation Recommended action
Recent arrest not appearing in eCaseView The case may not yet have been entered. The Clerk advises checking again within three business days after an arrest or citation.
Name search returns too many results Common names or broad search criteria. Narrow with court type, date range or case number.
Search exceeds 200 results eCaseView limits the displayed search result set. Use additional accurate filters.
Older document image is missing Online images are generally available from late 2008 forward. Ask the Clerk about older documents or archive copies.
Case is sealed or confidential Florida law or a court order restricts public access. Follow the Clerk’s authorized-access procedure.
Guest search lacks DOB or booking filters These fields are available to registered users. Consider free eCaseView user registration.
Registered account login fails New MFA requirements or inactive account. Verify registered email, reset password or contact eCaseView Support.
Search blocked from another country The Clerk restricts certain international connections for security. Follow the Clerk’s published international-access guidance.
Court record not found in PBSO booking search Sheriff booking history and court dockets have different coverage. Search eCaseView for the filed criminal case.
Case is federal, not state Federal prosecutions are maintained in a separate court system. Search PACER for the Southern District of Florida.

What if you are searching from outside the United States?

The Palm Beach County Clerk states that certain visitors outside North America may be unable to access its online systems directly.

Its published guidance explains that a VPN presenting a U.S. connection may allow access to eCaseView and other Clerk systems. Follow the Clerk’s official instructions and applicable security requirements rather than using unofficial copies of the court database.

What if eCaseView shows an open warrant?

The Clerk’s user guide explains that some cases with an open warrant are highlighted yellow in the search results.

However, eCaseView should not be treated as a comprehensive live warrant-clearance database. A missing yellow indicator does not establish that there are no active warrants from any jurisdiction.

For warrant-related legal concerns, contact the responsible court or qualified legal counsel.

13 / Sealed records and responsible use

Are Palm Beach County Criminal Records Public?

Many adult criminal court filings are public under Florida law. However, public access is subject to statutory confidentiality requirements, court orders and Florida’s rules governing electronic court records.

The Clerk’s eCaseView system does not provide public access to sealed or nonpublic cases and excludes certain case categories, including most juvenile proceedings.

What about sealed or expunged criminal cases?

A qualifying Florida criminal record may be eligible for sealing or expunction under state law.

The procedures are not identical, and eligibility depends on the charge, outcome, criminal history and applicable statutory conditions.

If a court record has been lawfully sealed or expunged, the ordinary public eCaseView search may no longer display it.

FDLE provides information about applications for certificates of eligibility and other record-relief requirements.

Does a criminal docket prove that someone was convicted?

No. A docket may contain an arrest-related filing, a criminal information, an indictment, a dismissal, a plea or a judgment.

An arrest is not a conviction, and two people can share identifying information. Verify the person’s identity and each charge’s final disposition before relying on a record.

Background-screening warning: Public criminal records used for employment, tenant screening and other eligibility decisions can be subject to the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Florida law and additional protections. This independent records guide does not supply consumer reports or certify screening eligibility.
